Melanie and Kristyn are board certified music therapists.  We received our certification from the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT) and have met and must continue to follow our professional code of ethics and standards of practice. In addition, to continue our board certification, we obtain 100 continuing education credits every 5 years. We are committed to professionalism in our field and strive for excellence in our service approach.  

Kristyn Beeman, MT-BC

Kristyn Beeman

Kristyn was born and raised in Shamokin, PA and graduated from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy. Upon finishing her coursework, Kristyn completed an internship at Bethany Children’s Home in Womelsdorf, PA and became board certified in 2004. Across 7 years, she worked as a clinical music therapist and managed a large music therapy program. In 2011, Kristyn fulfilled her dream of starting a private practice and collaboratively launched WB Music Therapy, LLC. She is a member of the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA), serves on the Pennsylvania State Task Force for Occupational Regulation of Music Therapy and is a Certified Dementia Practitioner. Kristyn has presented both regionally and nationally on a variety of music therapy topics such as music therapy with various clinical populations and professional retention within the field. In addition, Kristyn serves her church and other local churches through music ministry and enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends. She currently resides with her husband and daughter in Harrisburg, PA.

Melanie Walborn, MT-BC

Melanie Walborn

Melanie was raised in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania and moved on to graduate from Elizabethtown College located in Lancaster County, PA. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Therapy and completed an internship at Bethany Children’s Home in Womelsdorf, PA. Melanie began her career working as the lead music therapist at a school for students who experience behavior, emotional, and academic challenges. She continued her work as a board-certified music therapist for 10 years at a vocational and music therapy program. During this time, Melanie was also employed as a Clinical Supervisor for the Music Therapy Department at Elizabethtown College. During her 10 years of service to the Pennsylvania State Task Force for Occupational Regulation of Music Therapy, Melanie received the 2015 AMTA Changemaker Award as well as the 2017 MAR-AMTA Service Award. She is a proud member of the American Music Therapy Association. Melanie has presented at regional and national conferences on topics related to music therapy advocacy, music therapy and various clinical populations, and professional retention of music therapists. 2017 marks Melanie's 15th year of clinical practice. Also a Certified Dementia Practitioner, Melanie is currently working towards attaining specialized certification as a hospice and palliative care music therapist (HPMT). Melanie lives with her husband and daughter in West Hanover Township, PA.
