INTERN WITH
WB MUSIC THERAPY

WB Music Therapy (c. 2011) is owned and operated in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania by friends and Kristyn Beeman and Melanie Walborn.  We are a partnership that focuses not only advocating for, securing, and delivering music therapy, but also developing and nurturing relationships with community families and stakeholders.

 

WBMT operates three services:

1)   Music therapy

2) Music Fusion is an original, early childhood music enrichment program offered at childcare centers during the school calendar year.

 

3) WBMT Retreats,  an approved CBMT provider of continuing education, specializing in developing individuals self-awareness through creative arts- based single and multi-day retreats.

WB Music Therapy contracts numerous MT-BCs who serve people living in Lebanon, Dauphin, Cumberland counties.

WHO WILL I WORK WITH?

in and with music

  • groups of young, neurotypical children

  • individuals and groups of older adults with varying levels of dementia-related diagnoses

  • individuals and groups varying in age with needs related to congenital and acquired diagnoses

 

as part of direct and indirect service encounters 

  • immediate family members of those you serve

  • administrative assistants

  • all levels of nursing care providers

  • direct care staff in assisted living  and nursing care facilities

  • direct care staff for adults with intellectual differences living in group homes

  • early childhood care center directors and providers

  • ​clergy

  • activities directors and providers

  • legislators

WHERE WILL I SPEND MY TIME AS AN INTERN?

Interns will transport themselves in and around Dauphin, Lebanon, and Cumberland counties to:

  • Outpatient private practice clinic spaces

  • Assisted living and nursing care facilities

  • Early childhood care centers

  • Music therapy business owners home offices

  • churches

  • client private home

OUR SUPERVISION STYLE

We supervise from a lense of personal experience in the private practice and clinical music therapy setting.  We encourage unabashed inquisitivity of the self and strive to help interns understand the positive impact increasing self-awareness has in the development of a board-certified music therapist.  Supervising the music therapy intern is entering into a relationship with open communication, accountability, and encouragement.
